Termexo — Local Windows Workbench for Claude Code and Codex Sessions

Termexo is a local Windows workbench for developers who run Claude Code and Codex CLI sessions side by side and keep losing track of which one is waiting on them. It does not replace either agent: it wraps the real PTY terminals in one project-scoped window, so the CLI stays the source of truth.

Core Features

  • Grid workspace: open many Claude Code, Codex CLI, and shell terminals in one window, arranged from 1 to 6 rows by 1 to 6 columns, with each project remembering its layout.
  • Attention alerts: a taskbar flash, a system notification, and a sticky banner when an agent needs approval, plus per-tab states for working, waiting, finished, and failed.
  • Session search and resume: find saved sessions by name, path, branch, or model, then reopen them through the native claude resume and codex resume commands. Session files stay read-only.
  • Model profiles: point the same Claude Code CLI at Anthropic, DeepSeek, MiniMax, GLM, or any compatible endpoint, and switch every terminal in a project at once.
  • API keys live in Windows Credential Manager instead of a plain-text config file.

Use Cases

  • Developers supervising two or more coding agents on the same repository.
  • Freelancers juggling several client repos that each need their own saved layout.
  • Teams comparing cost and quality across model providers without reinstalling a CLI.

Pricing

Free forever. Version 0.3.10 runs on Windows 10 and 11, installs from termexo.com or via npx termexo, and needs no account, server, or Termexo subscription. You still pay your own provider bills, which start around $20/mo for a Claude Pro seat. The interface ships in English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Our Take

Best for Windows developers already deep in multi-agent workflows, where the real cost is forgetting which terminal stalled on an approval prompt. The trade-off is reach: Windows only, the CLIs must be installed separately, and remote approval plus quota visibility are still roadmap items.
