Warp Agent CLI is a standalone multi-model coding agent for developers who want Warp's agent in any terminal, not only inside the Warp app. Warp shipped the CLI in early August 2026, unbundling the agent from its block-based terminal so it can run over SSH or inside an existing tmux setup.

Freemium. The Free plan costs $0 with the full terminal and a capped monthly AI credit allowance, but no BYOK. Warp restructured its tiers in December 2025: the Build plan runs about $20/month with roughly 1,500 credits, repository indexing and BYOK, Max sits near $200 per user monthly with SSO, and Enterprise is custom.
Our Take
Unbundling the agent is the right call, because it puts Warp against Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex CLI rather than against iTerm2. Best for command-line-heavy developers whose work an IDE plugin cannot reach. The trade-off is that AI features need an account and network access, and heavy agent runs burn credits fast.
